TESTBED: Pilot Experiment (June- December 2020)

A pilot study was conducted at Oliveira de Frades, Portugal, during June 2020-December 2020 with a group of 20 people integrating: 7 participatory artists and designers from APECV; 2 caregivers and 11 members from ASSOL The activities were designed in group and included artistic participatory actions .
Stop 1: Sharing Ideas ( Photovoice June- August 2020)
Photographying the places were we learn. Starting from Photovoice activities to understand places of learning;
Stop 2: Conversations about the photos, planning activities together.
Stop 3: Story telling: The local stories ( September 2020)
conducting story telling activities to know about personal and cultural backgrounds of the participants with performance artist Dori Nigro.
Drawing in ASSOL ( local stories)
Stop 4: Printing images about the local stories- making posters and bags ( October 2020)
Printing artists from Centropontoarte helped the others to make posters using silk print; etching and typography techniques, The posters were used to announce the local exhibition of ASSOL drawings about the local stories in the library of Oliveira de Frades (November - December 2020).
Creating a Brand Isolate with love . Producing the first kit ( November 2020)
Designers worked with the group (by email because of COVID19 restrictions) to produce the branding ‘Isolate with love’ . The first product being a Kit - bag&mask with a figure embroidered (from the drawings about local stories). Thje Kit is for selling and the profit will be for ASSOL , The Textile Company - TEXIBÉRICA sponsored the production of the kit.

Stop 5: Display the process and Evaluate ( December 2020)
A final exhibition was made ( December 2020. February 2020) at Casa da Imagem in Vila Nova de Gaia to display the photographs of the photovoice, and final products.
